The monthly number of downloads from the Apple App Store (including both iPhone and iPad) and Google Play Store of the karaoke app TikTok in Belgium was highest in October 2020. TikTok is an app in which users lip sync and dance to a song in a short-form video of up to 15 seconds, which they can send to their friends. In essence, the app allows for content creation. Musical.ly and TikTok were fused together in August 2018 by their Chinese owner Bytedance. According to figures provided by Airnow, it is in the period after this that downloads of the TikTok app increased in Belgium.
